Do I need a physician’s referral to be treated at Orthosport Physical Therapy Center?

In Michigan, patients have direct access to physical therapists.

However, some insurance plans require a physician's order and some others physician’s referral. If your insurance carrier requires an order or referral, you still have the right to choose your own physical therapist. Let your physician know your choice.

Will my insurance pay for physical therapy?

We contract with insurance carriers that support our mission to provide quality patient care while engaging in ethical and sustainable business practices. These include but are not limited to BCBS, BCN, Aetna, Cofinity, United Health Care, and Tree Rivers Network. In addition, we accept all Workers Compensation, Medicare, and automobile polices.

I don’t have insurance coverage. What are my payment options?

Orthosport Physical Therapy Center supports both your health and financial needs. We are happy to arrange payment plans for patients with limited or no insurance. We accept checks, Visa, Discover, American Express, and MasterCard.

Do you accept “walk-ins”?

Due to the nature of the care we provide, appointments are required. However, we are typically able to accommodate same-day appointments for urgent injuries, and all patients can usually be scheduled within 24 to 48 hours.

How many visits will I need?

Many factors, including diagnosis, pre-existing conditions, and lifestyle, impact the frequency and duration of therapy. We work closely with both the patient and referring physician to return our patients to their desired level of activity as quickly and safely as possible.

How long will my appointments last?

Treatment sessions vary, but in general you can expect to spend about 60 minutes at each appointment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Clothing appropriate for a gym setting is best; particularly clothing that allows easy access to the body part we are treating (e.g., shorts for knee patients, tank top for shoulder patients).

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hour advance notification for cancellations in order to accommodate other patients.  A $50- fee will result when 24 hour notification is not received.  This fee is not billable to insurance and must be paid prior to receiving further services.
